ALWAYS IN PROCESS
Growing up in the diverse Washington, D.C., area, it wasn’t until Elias left home to go to college that he realized how weird it is to be a half-Indian Jew. Since then, he’s been spending his time uncovering the pockets of elitism buried in modern drama, discovering his responsibility to his ancestors, and learning how to direct plays. His work is always in process, recognizing that the process of theatrical composition necessitates room for limitless growth. He is drawn to creative work that exposes the hidden, most uncomfortable elements of humanity, based in the belief that theatre gives us the opportunity to live a dream of what life could be like in pursuit of a more honest future. Elias is currently earning his BA in Theatre in the directing program at Fordham University. In spring 2026, he will direct the world premiere of Chamberlain Bauman’s Overwater as part of Fordham’s studio season. He works between the New York and Washington, D.C. theatre scenes, though he hasn’t yet picked a favorite.
