IN SEARCH OF BIGGER PROBLEMS
Growing up in the diverse Washington, D.C., area, it wasn’t until Elias left home to go to college that he realized how weird it is to be a half-Indian Jew. Since then, he’s been spending his time uncovering the pockets of elitism buried in modern drama, discovering his responsibility to his ancestors, and learning how to direct plays. His work is constantly in search of bigger problems, recognizing that art is the primary catalyst for social change and that an artist’s responsibility to the world is to maximize the impact of their work on their communities. He is drawn to creative work that exposes the hidden, most uncomfortable elements of humanity, based in the belief that theatre gives us the opportunity to live a dream of what life could be like, in pursuit of a more honest future.
